Our SSL Brands

SSL is the acronym for Secure Sockets Layer and is the Internet standard security technology used to establish an encrypted (or safe) link between a web server (website) and your browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc…). This secured link ensures that the data/information that is passed from your web browser to the web server remain private; meaning safe from hackers or anyone trying to spy/steal that info. SSL is the industry standard and is used by millions of websites to protect and secure any sensitive or private data that is sent through their website. One of the most common things SSL is used for is protecting a customer during an online transaction.

Free SSL versus Paid SSL

As from December 2016, we offer free SSL’s to accounts, the most commonly asked question is what is the difference between a paid and free certificate? The free certificates we provide are cPanel certificates signed by comodo; these are DV (domain validated). You can’t move this certificate with your account to a new server, also it has not a warranty from the SSL authority; other as that the SSL will work the same and encrypt the communication between visitor and server.  So if you need more control over your SSL you can still buy your own DV with the SSL authorities; or if you need Organisation Validated, Extended Validated or Wildcard Certificates you can order them through here as well.
